Alaska Mountain and Glacier Pictures
At a marsh preserve along the Seward Highway.

Along the Seward Highway, over the Alaskan Railroad and Turnagain Arm.
A glacier which I hiked up to. It is near the rebuilt town of Portage.
Exit Glacier, which is a short hike off of the Seward Highway, just outside Seward.

Another picture of Exit Glacier. If you look closely at the tip of the glacier on the left, you can see some red specs. Those are people admiring the bottom edge of the glacier.
Me (jean jacket) and random other people in front of a glacier off of Prince William Sound. I am currently on the observation deck of a glacier tour. Don't let the light clothing fool you, there was a good 25-30 mph wind coming off of the glacier at near freezing temperatures. I soon retreated back to the warmth of the interior of the boat.
Some of the Alaska range of mountains. Taken from inside an Alaskan Railroad car.
Another view of the Alaska Range, as seen from the Alaskan Railroad.
Alaskan Range from the air. I was on a flight to see Denali (Mt. McKinley), the tallest peak(s) in North America. The clouds you see over the mountains in the center were slowly drizzling over the ridges of the range, like maple syrup over the edge of a stack of pancakes. It was an extremely beautiful sight, and this picture is the closest thing to justice I can do for it.
A pair of glaciers carving their way through the Alaska Range.
Denali (20320ft). We were extremely lucky to get to fly on this day, because the previous few, and next few all had clouds everywhere around the mountain, but other than some low-lying clouds, it was almost completely clear, a very rare occurrence.
The disturbances in the snow next to that rocky part are the remains of the campground of climbers attempting to reach Denali's summit.

Some more of the Alaska Range as seen from the air.
